The hotel is ok for the price: however the fares change from the official prices display on the price board. -Room plus (the simplest room) 290.- pesos for 12 hours from Sunday - Thursday Friday and Saturday normal fares applies -Room plus: 8 hours = 290.- pesos / night 580.- pesos -Room with sex sofa 8 hours = 320.- pesos / night 640.- pesos -Jacuzzi room 6 hours = 380.- pesos / night 760.- pesos -Master Suite 6 hours = 450.- pesos / night 900.- pesos (About 135.- pesos extra person) I believe the price promotion from Sun-Thu is because of the pressure of the competence from the surrounding hotels. However it was unclear how much would they charge for a short time period like the average 3 or 4 hours, in case they have such a fare. The rooms are old dated; furniture and decoration. However, each room has: 1) Large room 2) Chairs and table 3) Air conditioner (old but it works) 4) 2 mirrors standard room and 1 mirror the Jacuzzi room 5) A large powder table 6) Large bathroom with double strainer and a bidet 7) TV 8) There is good lighting outside the hotel in the inner yard The personal was very friendly and they willingly show you the different type of rooms they have and let you choose the one you prefer. Advises: Well it is always a matter of money and the ideology of the owners when it comes to invest in your own business, specially when you have already invested, long time ago, in furniture, decoration, infrastructure, etc. I guess if the Hotel Hollywood wants to really hit the competence it might be worthy to reconsider certain factors such as: 1) More and better large mirrors: the mirror next to the bed is dark, there is lack of mirror on the ceiling and the mirror on the powder desk is quite high 2) Bluetooth sounding: people don't visit these kind of hotels to watch TV, it was an investment done when they purchased the flat TV's and a good one, but guests want better sounding nowadays and the facility to play the kind of music they want. 3) Indirect lighting: the lamps are ok but either the room becomes to bright or too dark if you turn off the lights. Good warm indirect lighting is nowadays possible without a huge investment (but still, it is an investment) 4) Advertise the sex sofa rooms as a bit more expensive option might not be a wise decision. The sex sofas are not that expensive and are not really worth it; some couples might find them fun and some might find them very uncomfortable and worthless comparing to a normal height king size bed (love sofas are very low therefore uncomfortable) 5) Advertise the prices outside the hotel; the competence already know ALL your FARES and won't engaged in a "price war" because of many reasons, however, CUSTOMERS don't know your prices and don't know what you offer or what makes you different from the competence 6) The timing is very controversial; but it would be worth to think in better strategies; sometimes couple don't use so much time but to know they have the optimal affordable price and enough time is a good point. 7) Improve the communication channels. It doesn't seem that the hotel Hollywood is doing enough to communicate their prices and advantages to its target markets. There are of course more advises but I guess these ones would really make up the difference with the competence. Small investments like on new quilts, more pillows, new curtains could also improve the rooms, however those are not the main issues when selecting a hotel. 1) Price, 2) time and 3) Room experience would always be key decisions factors
